Pet health

The vital services we provide

Your pet’s health is our main priority. That’s why we strive to provide you with a consistent and dedicated service that will prove vital to the well-being of your loved one.

Young pet vaccinations

Having your pet vaccinated early in their life is vital when it comes to protecting them from a huge variety of illnesses.

Puppies should receive their first vaccination between 8 and 10 weeks of age, and their second two weeks later. Kittens should receive their first vaccination around 9 to 10 weeks of age, and their second three weeks later. Rabbits should be protected with a vaccination from 5 weeks of age. This vaccination can be administered with a single shot.

Your animals will then require a regular series of vaccinations as they grow older, usually at annual intervals, to ensure they remain safe and healthy throughout their lives.

Full examinations

Even if your pet seems fit as a fiddle, we recommend you bring them to us annually so we can verify and give them a clean bill of health.

A standard examination of your pet will involve a check for any underlying health conditions, such as digestive, skin or eye problems. Many of these issues may not be immediately apparent, so we ask you to bring your pet to us for your peace of mind and to maintain your pet’s overall health.

If we do encounter any problems with your pet’s health, we’ll let you know in clear and concise terms, and clarify how those problems can be fixed.

Onsite operations

If your pet needs a surgical operation, don’t worry – we can give them exemplary surgical care onsite. Our dedicated team will work for as long as is needed and we’ll be precise and professional throughout. We’ll make sure that your armed with all necessary information both before and after any surgical procedure.

Specialist services

All delivered with the utmost dedication

Our broad range of specialist services are designed to help your pet live a happier and healthier life.

Laparoscopic surgery

Keyhole surgery is far safer than many other procedures due to the considerably smaller incision being made, resulting in a reduced risk of complications. The amount of tissue damage and bruising will also be dramatically reduced, resulting in a much shorter recovery period. Laparoscopy is useful for :

  • Neutering

  • Liver, pancreatic, kidney and bowel biopsies

  • Preventative gastropexy in dogs prone to gastric torsion

  • Diagnostic exploration of the abdomen and chest

  • Cryptorchid surgery in male dogs

Electrosurgery

We provide electrosurgery equipment for precise cutting and coagulation, allowing for the removal of large tumours in your pet. Contact us for more details.

K-laser surgery

The body has a natural ability to heal, but it can’t always tap into this extraordinary resource on its own.

K-laser therapy uses an intense focus of light which stimulates the natural ability of the body to heal, resulting in reduced pain, an increase in circulation and a decrease in swelling.

This is a patient-friendly examination which can stimulate healing in a non-invasive way.

Harmonic scalpel

The harmonic scalpel is an advanced hand instrument used during surgical procedures, allowing for precise and effective cutting of animal tissue.

This increases the safety of surgery, resulting in minimal collateral tissue damage, very little blood loss, faster and gentler surgery, and reduced discomfort and healing time.

Dental care

Dental health care is as vital for your pets as it is for you. Brushing your pets’ teeth for a few minutes each day along with a 12-month check-up, should keep them happy and healthy but, dental problems are common, especially in older cats and dogs.

Our team is always on hand to help, from expert advice to top range dental equipment. Plus, if you join our pet health club all dental treatment is discounted by 10%.
